Long long ago, there lived a king called Krishnadeva Raya. He was the ruler of Vijaynagar kingdom. He was king and helpful to his subject. He dressed himself as a simple man and would move among the people as a simple man. In this way, he solved the problems of people. 
One evening, he saw a bullock cart stuck in a pit. The master was trying to push the cart out of the pit. He was beating the bull hard with the stick. But the animal would not move in inch. 
One seeing all this, King Krishnadeva Raya felt sorry for the animal. He quickly jumped into the pit and lifted the wheel. He patted the animal in love. Then the bull moved forward pulling the cart.
The master recognized the king and bowed before him. He was ashamed of himself for being cruel to the animal. He thanked the king for kindness and help.


Cap-Seller and Monkeys
In a town named Sonepur there lived a cap-seller. His name was Sohan. He went from village to village to sell caps. One day, Sohan was going to a village. It was very hot. The Sun was right over his head. He was tired. So he took rest for some time. He put the bundle of caps beside him and fell asleep under a tree.
On the tree were some monkeys. They saw the man sleeping and bundle of caps lying beside him. The monkeys came near the bundle. They took away all the caps and wore them on heads. Then they climbed up the tree.
After some time the cap-seller woke up. He found all his caps missing. He looked up at the monkeys. They had cap on there heads. The cap-seller was very upset. He wanted this caps back. He started crying. The monkeys also stared crying.
Then the cap-seller threw stones at the monkey. The monkeys also started throwing twigs and leaves at the cap-seller. 
The cap-seller said to himself, "The monkeys do just what I do. What should I do to get my caps back?" He thought of an idea. He took off his own cap. The monkeys also took off their caps. The cap-seller threw away his cap. The monkeys.also did the same. The cap-seller collected all his caps. He was now happy and went back to the village to sell the caps.
